Please understand that we are not trying to have you change the traditional beliefs you learned as a child. However, This question is serious and we should confidently know the answer.
After we die, where will we spend eternity?
My name is Tom Berger. I purchased the domain name, 'Defending God' years ago but was uncertain I would have the time and the support to operate it. I knew from the start this was from the LORD and I needed like minded believers to write tracts and articles to help answer questions so many people have about the LORD. Observing the conditions in our world today, the time has come. Everyone needs the LORD and it is up to us, (the church) God's 'called out', both Jew and non Jew, to use the talents He has given us to reach others.
The bible tells us there is a heaven, the LORD's home, for the saved, and there is the Lake of Fire, for the lost. Religion cannot save us only through "Faith" in our unseen LORD GOD. I have heard the question many times…saved from what? Jesus said it best and to a very recognized and religious man of the day, Nicodemus. John 3:17-18 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned but he who does not believe is condemned already.."
How am I condemned already? We have a tract on this site called "DOA" which we hope will answer that question for you. Many believe that they are basically good and therefore will go to heaven after they die, however many will agree that we are sinners, because we inherited Adam nature. This idea without understanding that word has come to mean that we can change and work our way into heaven. VERY dangerous thinking! Over and over in Scripture it reads that Jesus died for our sins. If our religion or if something we can do can make us clean then why did Jesus, being God, come to earth, take on the body of a man and willing die a horrible death by crucifixion? That thinking is like joining AA. You attend their meetings and soon you are booze free. We cannot go to church or whatever and work to be sin free. That's why Jesus died for us. God doesn't lie but keeps His word. The curse He told to Adam is as real today as it was when He said it in the Garden of Eden. We are Adam's offspring, thus we have inherited the curse.
All the LORD has ever wanted from His creation is to believe in Him, to honor Him, to thank Him for all we have and the blessings He has given us. According to God's Words, we humans are above the angels who surround Him, but who believes? God created Adam fully grown and educated. He was created 'good', by God's definition and therefore he could see and talk to the LORD. God gave him one simple test of loyalty, do you believe me when I speak to you. The liar spoke to Eve and Adam and they listened and thought is was true. They disobeyed the LORD's words and immediately died. We died with Adam as our inheritance.
The word 'faith' means 'to believe', 'to trust or rely on'. Trusting in God's Words has always been what pleases the LORD. In Proverb 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path". Hebrews 11:6, "but without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
Pray to the LORD and agree with Him that you are a sinner and you need salvation. Ask Jesus to forgive you and save you….remember what Jesus said to Nicodemus …."he who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe in condemned already" John 3:18a
